We are currently watching our next severe threat for the central Texas area which is expected late tonight into tomorrow morning. The main areas of concern are going to be large hail and strong winds and even an isolated tornado. We also have the possibility of some flooding as some of these storms could produce heavy downpours. If at all possible put vehicles in a garage or covered area. Bring all furniture inside/closer to your house to keep from blowing around. Be sure to check back in as we will provide storm tracks as they get closer to our viewing area along with information on watches and warnings.
The central Texas region has a slight change for tornado spin ups here and there tonight through the overnight hours. Keep checking back for more information on watches and warnings that may be issued.
Large hail is going to be one of our big risks tonight. Expect that some storms could produce hail the size of 1.5″ in diameter. Please be sure to bring all animals inside. Also, be sure to bring in outdoor furniture as well.
Damaging wind is also something that we are watching for tonight as well. Some of these storms that pass through could very well produce wind speeds in excess of 70 mph +.
